How to Remove the "Powered by Shopify" Notice From Your Shopify Store

Shopify, a powerful and comprehensive e-commerce platform, is the go-to choice for many entrepreneurs who want to set up an online store. While the platform is robust and user-friendly, many users prefer to remove the "Powered by Shopify" text typically found in the footer of their online store. This could be for reasons ranging from maintaining a consistent brand identity, enhancing aesthetics, or simply seeking a more personalized look.

If you're among those looking to remove the "Powered by Shopify" text, this blog post is for you. We will guide you through simple step-by-step instructions on how to achieve this. This process does not require extensive coding knowledge, and it can be accomplished in just a few minutes.

Method 1: Removing "Powered by Shopify" Through Shopify Admin

This is the most straightforward method to remove the "Powered by Shopify" text. Here's how you can do it:

1. Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.

2. Click on "Online Store" in the left-hand menu.

3. From the dropdown, click on "Themes".

4. Find the theme you want to edit and click on the "Actions" button to its right. From the dropdown menu, select "Edit languages".

5. In the "Filter translations" box, type "powered".

6. Two fields should appear: "Powered by Shopify link" and "Powered by Shopify html".

7. Simply clear the text in these boxes and click on the "Save" button at the top right corner.

Congratulations! The "Powered by Shopify" text has been removed from your store.

Method 2: Removing "Powered by Shopify" Through Editing Code

If the above method doesn't work for you, you can try removing the "Powered by Shopify" text by editing your store's code. Follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Shopify admin dashboard.

2. Click on "Online Store" in the left-hand menu, and then "Themes".

3. Find the theme you want to edit, click on "Actions", then select "Edit Code".

4. Click on the "Sections" folder to expand it and then click on the "footer.liquid" file.

5. Use the Find feature (Ctrl+F or Command+F on a Mac) in your browser to locate the "Powered by Shopify" text.

6. Once you find the text, delete the line of code that contains it. Be careful not to delete anything else.

7. Click on "Save" to apply your changes.

Now, the "Powered by Shopify" text has been removed from your store through the code edit.

These are two simple ways to remove the "Powered by Shopify" text from your Shopify store. It's important to remember that if you switch to a new theme, you'll need to repeat this process, as each theme has its own unique settings and code.

Customizing your online store is a great way to make your brand stand out and give your customers a unique shopping experience. Whether it's adjusting colors, adding a new banner, or removing the "Powered by Shopify" text, even the smallest changes can make a big difference. Happy customizing!
