Confetti on Your Shopify Store, Because Sometimes Selling Should Feel Fun

Most Shopify apps exist to solve a problem. Checkout is too slow, inventory is a mess, emails aren't converting. Useful stuff, but not exactly joyful.

Confetti is different. When someone lands on your store or adds something to their cart, a quick burst of confetti goes off. That's the idea. We build it at Pasilobus, and it's free to start.

Why a tiny celebration matters

Online shopping is mostly transactional. Click, add, scroll, check out, done. Compare that to buying something in person: you hand over your card, they wrap it up, there's a smile and a thank you, sometimes a free sample in the bag. The online version is efficient but flat.

A confetti burst at the right moment brings back a little of that texture. It doesn't replace good service, fast shipping or a good product. It just makes the customer feel like they did something, rather than completing a task.

Good retail has always known that how a purchase feels shapes how people remember the store. It's the same reason small game-like touches work: they acknowledge the customer.

Where it fires

Where the Confetti app can fire on a Shopify store: welcome confetti on the homepage, add-to-cart confetti, custom triggers on the Growth plan, not on the thank you page, and a celebration in the order email instead WHERE CONFETTI FIRES 1 HOMEPAGE Welcome confetti A burst when a visitor lands FREE 2 ADD TO CART Add-to-cart confetti Fires when an item hits the cart FREE 3 ANY PAGE OR BUTTON Custom triggers Signups, landing pages, buttons GROWTH THANK YOU PAGE Not available Shopify blocks app scripts here 4 ORDER EMAIL Celebrate here instead Add a GIF or a warm line
Confetti runs on your storefront pages. Shopify doesn't let apps run scripts on the thank you page, so celebrate the order in your confirmation email instead.

Welcome confetti. A burst when a visitor lands on your homepage. Good for launch days, holidays and sale weekends; you may not want it running all year.

Add-to-cart confetti. A pop when someone adds an item to their cart. It's a small, visible "got it" at a moment when shoppers sometimes wonder whether the button worked.

Custom triggers. On the Growth plan, you can fire confetti on any page, button or scroll point: a newsletter signup, a back-in-stock form, a campaign landing page. Developers can also call it from their own code with the app's JavaScript functions.

Every moment has its own settings, so you can turn one on and leave the other off. There are ten styles to choose from, including classic colorful confetti, fireworks, gold glitter, falling hearts, stars and snow. Everything is managed in the app, with nothing to edit in your theme.

What about the order confirmation page?

Earlier versions of Confetti also celebrated on the thank you page after checkout. That's no longer possible. Shopify has moved its Thank you and Order status pages to a locked-down system: since February 2025 apps can't add new scripts there, and older ones stopped running on August 26, 2026 for stores not on Plus (a year earlier on Plus). That applies to every app, not just ours.

You can still celebrate the order in two ways:

  • The order confirmation email. Go to Settings → Notifications → Customer notifications and open Order confirmation. A short, warm line or a small celebratory GIF at the top costs nothing.
  • Add-to-cart instead. The add-to-cart moment is where the confetti lives now, and it happens on every order.

Who it works for

Confetti fits naturally where the products are already fun or celebratory: party supplies, gifts, cards, kids' products, sweets, beauty, creative tools. Anything where the mood is already upbeat.

It can also work as a surprise. A serious-looking home goods store or a minimalist fashion brand can use one quiet style, like gold glitter, for contrast. Sometimes the unexpected moment of warmth lands harder than confetti on a store where everyone expects it.

Where it probably doesn't fit: products that call for a serious tone, like funeral services or medical supplies, or stores whose customers expect a reserved, professional experience.

Using it well

  • Match the moment. Hearts for Valentine's Day, snow for winter sales, fireworks for a launch.
  • Less is more. One or two moments are plenty. Confetti on every click stops being a treat.
  • Test it on a phone. Most of your visitors are on one, and a burst that looks light on a laptop can cover a small screen.
  • Don't worry about motion sensitivity. Confetti turns itself off for visitors who've switched on "reduce motion" in their device or browser settings.
  • Keep an eye on speed. The effects are lightweight and only load what they need, but it's worth knowing how apps can slow a store down in general.

Plans

The Free plan includes welcome confetti, add-to-cart confetti and all ten styles. Growth adds custom triggers for any page or button. Premium adds celebrations for specific items and seasonal styles that switch automatically. Paid plans come with a free trial, and the current prices are on the App Store listing.

If you want to try it, install Confetti from the Shopify App Store or read more on the Confetti page. Setup takes a couple of minutes, and the Confetti help centre covers every style and setting. Your next customer gets a little moment when they add to cart. They'll probably smile. That's enough.
