Updated September 2026
Two small Shopify admin changes from June 2025 save more time than their size suggests. You can reply to a Shopify Forms submission straight from the notification email, and you can duplicate a navigation menu instead of rebuilding it. Shopify has since added duplication for collections as well, and Forms had it already. Here's how each one works and when it's worth using.
Reply to Shopify Forms submissions from your inbox
Shopify Forms is Shopify's own app for sign-up, contact and quote-request forms on your store. Since June 2025, the notification email you get for a submission has the customer's email address as its reply-to. Press reply in your email client and your answer goes straight to the person who filled in the form. There's no copying addresses out of the admin.
How to set it up
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps → Forms and open the form.
- In Email notifications, check Send an email for each submission to this form.
- Click Save.
From then on, each submission lands in your inbox, ready to answer. It suits forms where the next step is a conversation: quote requests, wholesale enquiries, custom orders, booking questions.
no-reply@shopify.com, so replying won't reach them. Ask for an email address on any form where you expect to reply. If several people need to see submissions, a Shopify Flow workflow can send an internal email to whoever you choose after each submission. You can still review everything in the app. Apps → Forms → your form → View submissions lists them, and submissions also show on the customer's profile, under metafields. Two related Forms features help: you can duplicate a form to reuse its fields and settings, and you can send customers to a specific page after they submit, instead of showing the standard success message.
Duplicate a navigation menu
Menus live in Content → Menus. Open any menu and use the Duplicate action to make an exact copy with all its links. You give the copy a new name, and nothing changes on your storefront until you choose to use it.
When a menu copy helps
- Seasonal navigation. Copy your main menu, add a “Gift guide” or “Halloween” link at the front, and switch your theme's header to the copy for the season. When it's over, switch back, and your everyday menu is exactly as you left it.
- Trying a new structure. Rework a copy without touching the live menu, then swap it in when it's ready.
- Similar menus in different places. Footer, mobile and landing-page menus often share most of their links. Start from a copy.
Which menu your header or footer shows is set in the theme editor, usually in the header or footer section's menu setting.
Duplicate collections too
Since November 2025 you can duplicate a collection as well. The copy includes the title, description, image, conditions and manual product list. It starts unpublished, so you can adjust it before anyone sees it. That's useful for yearly campaigns such as a “Holiday 2026” collection built from last year's, and for variations of a smart collection with one condition changed. If you use smart collections, read what to know before you set conditions first.
Small changes, real time
None of these is a headline feature, but they remove the fiddly parts of admin work: copying email addresses, rebuilding menus link by link, recreating collections every season. If you spend a lot of time in the admin, Shopify's improved search and filters are worth learning too. We covered them in Shopify just made admin search and filters actually useful.
